"Prince Eric, you're not listening to me" 2007-05-21 / 11:41 a.m. Today is one of those dreary, overcast, stay in your pajamas kind of days. I love it. I have been playing with the girls and loving it. Bg1 and I played games while Bg2 was napping and now they are playing in their fort in the living room. I love to see them interacting. Most of the time, they are super cute together. Like when they both are laying in Bg1's "big girl bed" and they both lay down with their babies and say, "night night" and laugh and laugh because they think they are being so funny. Bg1 has been full of funny things lately. She learned a new phrase from her Papa, "Let's get this party started". She loves to say that! She also keeps calling the backscratcher a "scratchbacker" - which I love! She talks all the time to her favorite imaginary friends, Prince Eric and Ariel. She tells them that they, "need to listen and obey" - I wonder where she has heard that?! Bg2 wants to walk so badly, but only if I'm not asking her to do it. I'm afraid that we will have another stubborn one on our hands. She is so close to walking, but anytime I try to encourage and help her, forget it. Only in her own time! I'm kind of surprised because I have heard that most second children do things faster, to keep up with their older sibling. Not true so far. I thought of another gift to add to my list of possible birthday/mother's day gift - a nice gold watch. Right now, my $11 one is all faded and gross looking. I didn't expect it to last long, but I think I would like a real gold one - one that will last for a long time. Just another thought. Of course, because I listed pots and pans first, that is all Dan can think about. He's been shopping around, but for some reason, pots and pans don't seem very exciting to me anymore. I'm still looking and thinking. I dont' know if it is all the talk with Beth, or Jeanne Marie having her baby, or what, but I seriously have baby on the brain. We've been trying to decide how much longer I will stay on the pill and when (and if) we will start trying again. We have been talking about how we can make it work in this house and are both starting to agree on things. We even have narrowed down a couple of boys names and a couple girls names that we can both agree on. I know it is all premature and we could decide tomorrow that we are not going to have another one, but it's fun to think about. Yesterday, we brought down all the bins of baby clothes and I went through them all. I cleaned out the girl's room of clothes that no longer fit them and also weeded out some of the clothes that I had kept. I filled three garbage bags of clothes to donate to a friend at church and the rest were condensed and put back in the attic. While we were moving the bins, I came across what appeared to have been a ra...mouse nest. There was a shoe (a match of one previously found), a glove and a .......wait for it.....dead bird! You heard me. I didn't even know they ate birds! Dan was completely freaked out because he had to clean it up. I don't think it is new, I think we just didn't uncover it before. I swear - I am sick of finding little surprises up there. We are going to do a massive clean out up there. We are trying to decide if we just want to donate everything or have a garage sale. I think it will be easier to donate and be done with it all. We really need to get going on that. The thing is, it is hard to do with the girls. I don't want them touching anything from up there and it is hard to keep them both entertained while we do it. And we can't really do it while they are napping because the attic door is right by their room and the majority of our stuff is directly above their room. And I don't want to do it all by myself, I need Dan's help. Maybe we'll pick a day and see if a friend can take the girls for a few hours, or something. It just has to be done. I know this makes me sound completely pathetic, but I am so sad that some of my shows are coming to an end. I think I am most sad about Gilmore Girls - series finale, not just season finale. That's it - they're done! I LOVE that show! Now, I want every season on DVD so I can watch it over and over again. Don't tell anyone, but I cried a little when it was done. I know, pathetic. Well, there's mac 'n cheese to be made for two of the most beautiful girls you have ever seen! K
