Can I just tell you that in a week from today, I will be on my way to NC! The closer it gets, the more excited and anxious I get. Excited to see my friends and have a little less responsibility for a while (i.e. my husband and kids), but anxious because I have never been away from them for so long.

Here's something I don't understand. It has been bothering me for some time now. When a person draws an animated cartoon for children's viewing, why is it that they usually only draw 4 fingers on characters? Is it too difficult to draw 5? Too much trouble? Did you get tired and think, eh, 4's enough? Am I the only one who has ever noticed this? Do I have way too much time on my hands? In movies, I always look for the inconsistencies. Like, for example in one scene someone will have something in their hand, and then the next view it will be different, or moved, or the cigerette is a new one instead of the previously seen short one. You know, things like that.

I really want to do some planting in our backyard. I have been trying to figure out what colors I want back there and what flowers are hardy enough to live through my neglect. I have been really good about watering everyday, so that will help. Dan bought me a new sprinkler for the back, that is awesome! It gets the whole yard and the flower beds in one shot. I don't have to go out and keep moving it. I want to repot some plants and buy some new ones. I want a pretty yard again. Maybe we can work on that this weekend.

We have a birthday party to go to on Saturday. It is for Dan's cousin's two daughters. In the invitation, she put something about them having enough toys and a gift wasn't necessary, but if you were going to give a gift, they would prefer gift cards or a donation made to a charity in the girl's names. Yeah right, like I am really going to show up without a gift. So gift cards it is. I'm tempted to buy some really obnoxious toys just because. But I won't. I like these people. I just think that is weird to tell people. It's one thing if people ask for gift suggestions, but to just come out and say no toys. And do the girls know that they are getting the shaft? Because I don't know too many 7 or 2 year olds that would be okay with their mom telling people not to bring presents. Whatever?!

Anyhow, I thought since this is such a deep entry and you all probably need a break from my brilliance, I would include a new section to my diary. It is going to be called Tidbits of Information About Kim That You Wish You Knew - TIAKTYWYK for short.

TIAKTYWYK: I Never drink the last drink of soda in a can. It grosses me out!
