That's some baby! 2007-06-29 / 9:03 a.m. I have so much to report to you, that I have become a bit overwhelmed and keep putting it off. But the reality of it is, the more I put it off, the more detail I will forget. So you will not be getting the full detailed version. Deal with it. I had the BEST time in NC. I can't even tell you how much I enjoyed myself. It was so wonderful to spend time with JM and E! And that baby! That baby is so beautiful and sweet and I just couldn't help but kiss her face off! I forgot how wonderful it is to hold a newborn. When I would talk to Dan, I kept telling him that I am really ready to have another baby! Anyways, the trip out there.....I have to say, it was so nice to be on my own. I enjoyed finding my way through the airport and just being alone. I listened to Lucy (my phone/ipod-want-a-be), people watched and read. On the first stretch of my flight, I was seated next to a very interesting man. He had a very strong liking to Aaron Neville - except, he had crazy eyes. You know the kind of eyes where you're not sure which one to focus on....and when you think you've got the good one, it goes all crazy? It seriously creeped me out and I avoided any contact what's so ever! I told E that I had thought about sneaking a picture of him, because I didnt' think anyone would believe me, but I wasn't sure if he could see me taking it or not, so I didn't do it. Regardless of crazy-eyed Aaron Neville, I enjoyed my music and my book. The second leg of the trip was completely uneventful and I was excited to get there. My time there was so good. Not only did I get to visit and catch up with two of my favorite people, but I got to meet a new little girl who was quickly added to my list of favorites. E and I got to share a room, so we had lots of fun talking and laughing into the late hours of the night, hoping we weren't waking up the new mommy. JM is an amazing mom. It was fun to watch her with her daughter. E and I were able to help with feedings, diapers and other things around the house. JM and I talked about how I got my girls on a feeding and sleeping schedule and it seemed to work well for her baby. We helped finish organizing her nursery and ran a couple errands. I hope we were helpful. I liked being able to do things to help. I LOVED the time the JM and I got to sit and talk, and catch up and just share our lives with each other. The last couple of days, after E had to go home, were kind of emotional. It was hard to say goodbye, I was in love with the baby, and I want to live closer to JM so we can enjoy each other like we did this trip. We both agreed we would just have to work that much harder at staying in touch and close to each other. Of course while I was there, I missed Dan and the girls like crazy! But honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think because I was enjoying myself so much and I was trying to be helpful to JM, it made the time easier to be away from my babies. Plus, I talked to them everyday and even saw them a couple different nights on the webcam. It wasn't until the last couple of nights that Bg1 started to cry for me when we were getting off. That's when I lost it. Before that, she was being kept very busy with papa and grandma, and didn't seem to mind my absence. Bg2 didn't really seem to understand or know what was going on. But after being home the first day, she wouldn't let me put her down. I have to admit, that I liked that. It made me feel good that she missed me and needed me. My trip home, was really nice. There was no one sitting next to me, so it was very relaxing and I had plenty of room. I even took a little nap. Dan met me at the airport with my two girls and flowers! So sweet! I was happy to be home, but sad to leave my friend. It was a great trip and I am so thankful I was able to make it out there. Since I have been home, I have been cleaning and putting things away. Just trying to get back to normal. I have been loving the time with the girls. In just a week, they seem to have changed so much. Bg2 took her first couple of steps when I was away, which of course made me cry, but she still isn't really that interested in walking. Summer is here! Which means, that most of my friends, who are teachers, are free to get together. I love this time. My calendar is filled with trips to the park, beach, etc. The weather is not too unbearable yet, and the girls love being outside. I might even start to get a tan! Also, while I was in NC, I decided that I would like to start running. Now, I don't know what possessed me to think I can do this, but I really want to lose some weight and dieting alone is just not going to do it. When I was in college, I played basketball for a season - I know, don't laugh. Anyways, I lost SO much weight from all the running. So I have talked to Dan about how we can do that with the girls and I think I will try to start within the next day or two. I discussed the plan with JM and E as well, so we are all going to try to hold each other accountable for losing some weight. E is already so good about going to the gym and what have you. But as for me, it is really going to take some discipline. I hate to sweat! But, it must be done. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my father-in-law did not seem to find it amusing that, on the way to the airport, I named his navigational system Gladys. She sounds like a Gladys and since she was constantly talking to me, I started talking back. Saying things like, "Gladys, are you sure you know where we are going?" "Oh Gladys, you think you know which way we are going to turn, but really, you don't know!" While I found it very entertaining, he did not. Oh well, I can't help it if he doesn't know good entertainment when he hears it. I'm sure I will think of more things that happened, and I will plug them in when I do. Until later, there is laundry to be done. Plus, Beth is coming over tonight! Yippee! K
