Watch out - walking baby coming through! 2007-07-13 / 9:33 a.m. We had the Best time at Lake Arrowhead. There were about 35 people there and it was great. All the kids got along and played well together, the adults had fun, and it was just a fabulous four days. We spent time relaxing, walking, talking, eating and enjoying the beautiful mountains. The cabin is amazing. We had been there a few times before, but never with the whole group of our friends, just us and the family that owns it. One day we drove up the mountain a little further and took the kids on an Alpine slide. You know, the cement tracks with little go-cart like thingamabobs. It was So much fun. Bg1 wanted to go the fastest we could. She also went down a water slide, but didn't like that as much. Another day, the best day, we spent the entire day at the lake. We played in the water and the kids had so much fun. One of the group member's parents live up there and have a boat, so they took everyone out on the boat - so much fun! When the kids were all tired out and playing on the sand, the adults got in the lake and had some fun. We floated around for a while...that is, until the men said the women could never get themselves up on the docks to jump off. Well, I didn't care what I had to do, if someone tries to tell me I can't do something, you better bet your bottom dollar that I am going to find a way to do it. I got my fat body out of the water and up on the dock - several times, I might add! We had so much fun jumping off. I felt young again....until that night when my body hurt. My inner thigh has some beautiful dark bruises to show my efforts for getting up on the dock. It was worth it just to prove those men wrong. I do have to add, that Dan was not part of this doubting - he knows me better than that. We played games when the kids went down for the night and all in all, just enjoyed being with each other. I hope we do it again. Yesterday, I headed to Martha's for a few hours. It was fine. Nothing terribly exciting. We had lunch and visited for a while and then I headed home. Beth picked me up later that night and we went for dinner and a stroll around Target. She bought Bg1 the Cutest hot pink cowgirl boots! Unfortunately, she was asleep when we got back so Aunt Beth didn't get to see Bg1's reaction to the boots. She LOVES them! She was so excited this morning to see them waiting for her on the coffee table. She's been wearing them all morning. I have a feeling these boots will see many a places due to a stubborn little girl refusing to take them off to go anywhere! I am going to take them back for a bigger size though. They fit, but not for long. So we'll probably go and exchange them later today. In bigger news, Bg2 is Walking! She started really putting her steps together at the cabin, and each day she is getting better. She still prefers to crawl, but it won't be long until she is racing around here. The cutest thing is watching Bg1 encourage her little sister. She wants her to walk to her all the time and she keeps saying things like, "Good job, Bg2!" or "I'm so proud of you!" Super cute. TIAKTYWYK: I hate, Hate, HATE lunch meat that is wet and slimey! Why do they do this? Turkey isn't supposed to be wet - what the hell?
