Catching up 2007-07-22 / 10:47 a.m. Wow, it has been a while since I have updated, but it feels like only a day. They days have been flying by with so much activity that my head is spinning. This past week, we had VBS (Vacation Bible School) at church. Bg1 was old enough to be in a class this year, and she loved it. I helped in the craft room again this year, and Bg2 stayed in the nursery. We had to be there early to help set up and a couple of the days, we had activities after church. So our days were long and tiring. The girls schedules were completely thrown off and we have had a few rough afternoons. Bg2 didn't get her morning naps and is working on a new tooth, a molar, so she has been extremly needy and clingly. Bg1 is just overtired and in need of a routine again. I've been so tired that I have been just collapsing every night. Thankfully, we don't have much gong on this week. I am in desperate need of some creative time for myself. I haven't scrapbooked in months, and I have been dying to get my paints out again. I did a small painting* for our kitchen when we re-did it, and have been wanting to do something on a bigger scale. I think I mentioned that we are thinking of moving the girls into our office? maybe? anyways, I think I would like to do two large paintings for their room. We'll see. Very few people even know that I like to paint. It has always been a kind of private hobby because I do not feel that I am not very good at it, but I do like it. Also, I found a dresser at a local thrift store that I WANT so badly! It's really old and the shape is beautiful. It's not in very good condition, but I am positive I can do it. I like doing that kind of thing. The guy (and I use that term losely - more on that later) said I could have it for $15! The problem is that we don't have anywhere to put it for right now. We aren't moving the girls yet, but when we do, they will need a dresser. Plus, I'll need time to work on it. We just don't have a place to store it. But, I will never find something like this for this price. I need to figure out something quick. I also need to figure out how to get it home. So the thrift store has been there for a while, and I keep wanting to go into it, but not with the two little ones. I was running an errand, by myself, one day, so I thought I would run in and look around. I thought there was a woman behind the counter. I said hello, and "she" said hello and I still thought there was a woman behind the counter - until I got up close. That's not a woman! But he really wants to be one! Dan's dad and brother made a quick and last minute trip down this weekend to go to a baseball game. Anyways, they stayed with us and then the next day, they and Dan and Bg1 went to a new store that opened. Dan bought himself and Bg1 a fishing pole - her's is pink, of course. Anyways, they were out in the back last night practicing their casting - too cute. I put some pictures up on flickr. K *I put a picture of my painting on flickr - let me know what you think.
