A mother's love 2007-07-24 / 12:55 a.m. Some of you may be aware of the timestamp on this entry. I am awake, and waiting for the washing machine to be finished. Bg1 complained about not feeling well all day today. She didn't want to eat and complained about her stomach. At dinner, she had a fever of 101 degrees. She was in the bathroom several times and I was confident that her troubles were over when we put her to bed. I guess I was wrong. There is nothing like hearing your named called, out of a deep sleep, at 12:00 in the morning, by a sick little girl - who thinks she is going to get in trouble for getting sick all over her bed (not throw-up....think other end...sorry, but I need you to appreciate my pain...). Poor thing. So I got her striped down and into the tub, the sheets and blankets stripped off of her bed, the bed remade and her back in it - all while Bg2 and Daddy slept like babies. I then stood at the kitchen sink trying to wash as much out of the clothes and bedding as I could before putting it in the washing machine. Let me just tell you, if you don't have a strong stomach, either get one or don't have kids! Of course, I first had to do the dishes that were uncharacteristically left in the kitchen sink. At least now, the dishes are done, the laundry is close to being done and Bg1 has had a bath. Not bad for such an early time of the morning! In other news, Martha was over today. She had asked me to come for a visit today and when I woke up, I didn't feel like going over there. So I had the idea of picking her up and having her come spend the day at our house. She was game, so that's what we did. The girls and I drove to pick her up and made a couple stops on the way home. One to the craft store, one to the thrift store (to get her opinion on the dresser) and one to get some lunch. It wasn't really that bad. It was nice to be on my own turf, the girls were a distraction and I think she had a good time. I borrowed her carpet-steam cleaner and we worked on the area rug in my bedroom. That is another disgusting job that really should be done more often. It's hard to remember my carpet being such a pretty shade of beigh. It took quite a while to get all the dirt and soap up, but so worth it. I still need to do the living room area carpet, but my shoulders were killing me. Plus, the carpet is pretty wet afterwards, so that one will have to be done after the girls are down for the night and it has time to dry. Anyways, I drove her home after dinner and it was an okay day. It made me miss my old mom, but I'm emotional and hormonal right now, so I'm sure I'll get over it. I have several projects that I want to get done around here: I will take before and after pictures of all the above mentioned projects and post them on flickr. BTW - I am in love with flickr. Everyone told me I would be, but I had to find out for myself. I love getting comments from my friends and I love seeing what is going on in their lives. For example, who knew Catie had such beautiful hands and feet? And now, I try to go back to sleep. 6:30 am. will be here before I know it! K
