Rudeness!

2007-09-05 / 9:39 a.m.

Sweet Baby Jesus: Thank you for hearing my pleas for relief from this blasted heat! Amen. I am such a happier person today. It is amazing what a few degrees cooler will do for your mood.

I'm going through my usual sadness. School has started and most of my friends, that I have been spending time with this summer, have gone back to work. While I am happy that things have slowed down quit a bit, it still makes me sad. Also, Fall is coming. I LOVE Fall! We are going to Petaluma at the end of Oct. and I can hardly stand it. It will be so pretty up there at that time, and we are going to stay with our really good friends that we haven't seen in too long. They have twin girls about 2 weeks younger than Bg2 - it will be so much fun to have all 4 girls in one house for a weekend.

I don't have much to report. I have to take Martha to the doctors today, so of course I am not looking forward to that. Otherwise, I have started making a list of things that I need/want to get done around the house.
*finish Bg2's baby book
*enroll Bg1 in some kind of community class (tumbling or something fun)
*clean out the girl's closet
*work on the yard
*bring down fall decorations from the attic
*clean out the attic
*clean out the office (including the closet)
I'm sure there is more, but that is a good enough start for now.

I am a firm believer that I do not have to answer my door or phone when someone is knocking/calling. Even if they know I am home. It is my choice to answer and if I don't want to, I don't have to. The thing about this, particularly when someone is at your door, they won't go away! I feel like yelling through my open window, "I hear you - but that doesn't mean I have to answer my door! Go away!" Last week, we had the house all opened up, and it was obvious that we were home. Dan was on the phone in the front room and I was in our bedroom (front of the house) putting away laundry. This guy was standing on our lawn, trying to get my attention through the window. "pst. hey...hello..." I was ignoring him, because, hello...rudeness. If you want something, come to the front door and knock, like everyone else has to do. He wouldn't give up. He could see me, and just kept trying to get my attention. Finally, I was so irritated and couldn't take it anymore, and I snapped, "What do you want!?" "Do you want to buy some fertilizer for you yard?" Seriously? If you are trying to sell something, are you going to yell through a window? "Get off my lawn!" was my response. Now, I am not normally that rude, but that was ridiculous.

Alright, Bg2 will be up from her nap soon and then it's off to Martha's. I better finish getting ready.
