New Older E mail Notes

Better today

Aside from the terrible headache I have right now, I am in a better place than I was last time I posted my entry. I got a couple of nice notes from people, which was not what I was looking for, but it made me feel better just the same. Also, I gave myself a mani/pedi and of course that always makes a girl feel better.

Friday night and all day Saturday I was at a women's conference. It was very uplifting, and it is my fourth year attending. I went through my closet and pulled out some outfits that I haven't worn in quite a while, and that also made me feel better - less frumpy. I have made a deal with myself that I can be frumpy at home, but if I am going out anywhere, I will dress a little nicer and make sure I am happy with the way I look. We'll see how long it lasts. All I know is that it felt very good to have people compliment me on how I looked this weekend.

Also, I have been listening to more music and less TV. It's amazing how a few simple things can make you feel better. And crafts! Crafts are the best medicine. I finished the pillow I started last week and I really like it. I'm actually thinking about making them as gifts for friends. I'll have to think about it.

I got some of the absolute craziest news yesterday about one of my best friends from college. It just keeps making me smile all day today. It's kind of a long story, but it's truly amazing. It involves three major things: 1.)possibly moving to Europe to be missionaries, 2.) possibly moving back to CA, and 3.) having baby #5 - after her husband had a vasectomy 2 years ago! If any of those things would happen to anyone, it would be her! And she is not even really that phased by any of them - which is so her, go-with-anything-kind of girl!

I have another project to work on, that has me kind of excited. But I can't tell you about it, because it is a gift for Beth. Also, this Sat. night, she is having a birthday party and we are going - without kids! I am so thrilled to have a sitter and get to go out with Dan. I'll actually get to have adult conversations. And maybe a drink! Yippee!
