Believe me when I tell you it hurts!

We know so many people who are being affected by the fires right now. It's really scary and more than a little sad to hear that some of these are cases of arson. I don't understand that. I've purposly kept the TV off today. Call me stupid for wanting to be uninformed, but I need a break from it all.

This morning was Bg2's doctor apt. I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. She's very little for her age. At 18 months old, she weighs 18 lbs., which is below the 5th percentile and is in the 10th percentile for height. Thankfully, the pediatrician wasn't overly worried or concerned. Bg1 was the same way and Bg2 is doing everything she should be doing developmentally and is perfectly healthy in all other areas. We got away with 3 shots and no blood draw - thankfully!

Last night, my brother and his family came over for the pumpkin thing. It was fine, uneventful, but I injured myself. Seriously - I'm still hurting today. I tripped over a pumpkin that was on the floor, but what happened was that I stubbed my big toe on it. But my toenail actually went into the pumpkin and the nail lifted away from the skin. I was bleeding and it hurt like H-E-double hocky sticks. After further inspection, I went into the bathroom to get my tweezers and pulled out a huge piece of pumpkin skin that was pushed underneath the nail. People - I am not kidding you - this hurt- REAL BAD! Today, my toe is throbbing and the nail bed is all bruised. I have on red polish, but I know that when I take it off, my nail is going to be black and blue. It hurts to put any pressure on it. How stupid is that?

Also, Bg1 woke up completely congested and miserable. I thought it might be the winds and the smokey air, but after our visit to the doctor's this morning, she confirmed she has a cold. She's not a good sick person. She's whiney, needy and getting on my last nerve. She was upset this morning and when I asked her what was wrong, she said, "We're going to have to call Shelby and tell her I can't do Halloween because I am my nose don't feel so well." Cute! I told her that was a week away and she would be fine by then (I hope).
