The following is one of the best things I've heard in the past few days. I was in the car with the girls and I turned on one of Bg1's music CD's. The girls had previously been silent. All of a sudden Bg1 screams, "Come on sister, let's hit it!" and she starts singing her heart out. "Come on sister, bob your head like this!" I look in the mirror to see them both bopping their heads to the beat of the music! Super sweetness! And where did she get "let's hit it"?

I've been trying to spice things up a bit with the girls breakfast routine. They haven't been eating as well, so I thought I would try some new things. The day before yesterday, I made them smoothies with strawberry yogurt, a banana, milk and a little ice. They loved it! I hadn't been able to get them to eat yogurt for a while, so that did the trick. Today, I fixed them oatmeal and stole a brilliant idea from Eva - I mixed in a spoonful of peanut butter. They wolfed it down! Now if I could just get them to eat eggs! I'm thinking of trying to color them pink. Bg1's a sucker for anything pink!

I'm totally getting in the mood for holiday baking. I was looking at recipes yesterday and trying to figure out what I am going to make this year. I'm afraid since money is an issue this year, people are going to be getting a lot of handmade gifts and treats. I found a few new recipes that I can't wait to try.

I had an idea of what I was going to make for an exchange I am doing on Flickr, but needed the pattern from my mom. She found it for me - which I totally was not expecting, and even had a lot of the supplies for them. So now I can get started on making those. I hope they are liked and not thought to be cheesy. I think I am going to make extras for other people I'd like to give them to. I always like to get started on a new project.

I love, love, love that it is overcast and cloudy. I had to finally put more blankets on our bed and actually turned the heater on for the first time the other day. I love when it gets cold. I even pulled the girl's footy pajamas out - I love seeing them in those!
