Do people still say "Tuckered out"?

2007-11-15 / 12:19 p.m.

Things on the homefront are appearing to get better. I had yet another talk with Dan, and I think he read my last entry, and it seems like I might have gotten through to him a little bit. On Monday evening, I left the house for a few hours. I went to Beth's for some love and attention. It was nice to just sit and talk, eat dinner and be spoiled with some ice cream and friendship. When I came home, the house was picked up, dishes done, and he had attempted to iron his own shirt for work the next morning. All of this is huge effort for my husband.

On Tuesday, he informed me that he had arranged a baby sitter for Friday night. At first, I was a little irritated because I had mentioned it to him when he was making an xbox "date" with his friend (instead of me), and I know I'm stubborn, but I hate when I have to tell him how to treat me nice. I think he should have to put some effort into it. Think on his own for once, what would make my wife happy? how can I show her I love her and that she is important to me? Regardless, I let it go and am actually looking forward to some time alone with him. I think we are going to dinner and a movie - which we never get to do! Of course, I'm fully expecting an argument over where to eat (where he thinks we can afford), but the movie is free. We got a gift card for the movies last year from my sister-in-law and have never used it.

I feel like my bruises are healing. He is making the effort and I am willing to calm down a bit. That's not to say that I want things to go back to the way they were, but I don't want to be the nagging, demanding wife. I can't thank those of you, who offered kind words of encouragement or threatened to do him bodily harm, enough. It's nice to know you have good friends who know you, understand you and support you.

Ok, moving on.......it is just Wrong that someone in our neighborhood had their Christmas lights up and on the day after Halloween! Wrong I tell you! We usually like to donate the weekend of Thanksgiving or the week after to decorating, which to some is early, but never before Thanksgiving! It's bad enough the stores start doing it earlier and earlier each year. I still can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week! I'm really looking forward to spending it with Beth's family.

I worked out in the back yard this morning - weeding, edging, mowing, etc. I'm tired. Now that the girls are down for naptime, I think I might go take a little rest myself. I was up super early this morning with a very upset tummy! It's better now, but between that and the yard work, I'm tuckered out!
