A day of lessons

Okay, so no one I know would ever say that parenting is easy. I wouldn't necessarily say it is "hard", but more challenging and trying than I would have ever imagined. I know consistency is key and I know that it is my job to teach them the things that will make them functioning members of our family and society. Today has worn me out. It's really no different than any other day, but here are some of the lessons currently being taught in our house:

*We never hurt anyone. No matter how mad we are, we don't try to pinch off our sister's face.

*If you get to play with her toys, she can play with your toys.

*I'm the mommy - not you!

*Some facial expressions are not okay!

*Even though you ask me over and over, I'm NOT changing my answer - SO STOP ASKING!

*Sharing is not easy.

*Spankings are not fun for you to get and they are not fun for me to give.

*The difference between "lying" and "tricking" needs to be further explained.

*My 4 year old thinks she can outsmart me. Not yet....most likely soon....but not yet my friend.

*If you make the mess, you really can clean it up on your own...no, no your legs do too work.

That being said, it's my favorite and most deserved time of the day - Nap time! I love when my house is quiet. I usually try to get a million things done, but today, I am going to sit and enjoy the silence.

Tues. night was really fun. I went to Jenn's to scrapbook and it turned out to be a really enjoyable evening. I only got 6 pages done (not nearly what I thought I would get done), but the talking and one-on-one time with Jenn was super fun. I didn't get home until 1:15 AM! and then I couldn't go to sleep. I think I finally drifted off around 2:30 and the girls were up by 5:45. So not much sleep that night. Surprisingly, I wasn't that tired. That is until about 1:00 that afternoon - then I crashed. I took a little nap when the girls went down that afternoon.

There is a sofa, a blanket and a book calling my name. It would be rude of me to not respond.
