Keeping up

2008-03-05 / 9:02 a.m.

I'm sweating and proud of it. I just finished doing a workout tape. I couldn't totally keep up, but when I fell behind I would jog in place until I could catch up. Today was the first day I tried it again. I've been finding other ways to work up a sweat. I didn't really like it, and I didn't really want to do it, but I am proud of myself for doing it anyways. I need to cool off a bit before I take a shower though. There is nothing worse than getting out of the shower and you are still sweating. Does this just happen to me? Am I a slow-cooling-downer? Moving on.

The girls have been having a hard time with each other lately. Sharing is not their favorite thing to do. I know it is something they have to be taught and trust me, I'm teaching. But I think there comes a certain point where they no longer hear my voice. And then it all goes to H - E - double hockey sticks. Bg2 is in the biting phase. She only bites Bg1 and while it is absoloopy not okay to bite, I have to say the Bg1 deserves it at times. She totally instigates things and tries to get her sister worked up enough to bite. I've even seen her pushing herself into Bg2's face - trying to get her to bite. I'm just tired of repeating myself. "We don't bite." "That hurts your sister." "Don't make her bite you." "I'm sorry you are crying, you shouldn't have put your arm in her mouth." etc. etc. AND, it really helps when Dan has the following conversation with me:
Dan: How are the girls today?
Me: Okay, but they are fighting over toys again.
Dan: You need to teach them to share.
Me: (thinking: Brilliant idea! Why didn't I think of that?!) (But really said:) You think I'm not doing that?
Dan: Yes, I know you are trying.
Me: Oh, so I'm just not doing a very good job at it, is that it?
Dan: No, I love you.
Smart man - don't go any further.

I've been doing a lot of work in our backyard, and while it is still not close to being done, it is looking very nice. Like a place I would like to go spend some time. The girls are loving being outside. I repotted several plants that desperately needed it and they are happy happy happy. All green and standing straight up. I still need to weed three flower beds and I would LOVE to plant some new flowers. I also want to plant something along the front walkway, but I'm not sure what to put in there. It needs to be low-growing, colorful and able to take full sun. Any suggestions?

The next few days are going to be super busy. Tomorrow the girls and I are going over to see Martha. It's been a while and I am having that tiny bit of missing her feeling again. I know I will most likely be disappointed, but I am going to go anyways, because I know she is excited about it. Sat. we have a funeral to go to in the morning, a birthday party in the afternoon and Dan has to be at church that night. Sunday we are going on a date night - yippee! We are going with two other couples and I can't wait. We are going to the Melting Pot (a fondue restaurant). I have only been there once, for dessert with Jeanne Marie and Non, but this time we are going for a full meal. Matt and Beth are watching the girls for us, which it SO SO nice. I think they will have fun. There was talk of taking them to Chuck E.Cheese.

I have been much better about cooking lately and I like it. It's a little more difficult with the whole WW thing, but I am learning to eat less of the things I like. I'm actually doing pretty good, but I am not past the point of constantly being hungry yet. Please get here soon - I no likey being hungry. I'm trying to keep myself distracted with other things.

Ok, it's shower time. Hope you are all having a lovely day.
