This seemed like a really long weekend, and not totally in the good way. Friday night we met my good friend and her family for dinner. They were out from AZ to go to Disneyland, so we were able to spend a couple hours visiting with them. It was nice, but not nearly enough time to catch up.

On Saturday Bg1 started feeling pretty warm, and ended up with a 102.7 fever. She wasn't really acting sick, but she was on fire. Nothing else seemed to be bothering her, but we tried to get her to lay low for the day anyhow. We were supposed to go to a kids tap dance show, that my friend gave us tickets for, but ended up not being able to go. That night, or I guess I should say the next morning, was a mess. She was up at 2:00am and after 4 or 5 trips into her room, by 6:00 am, I gave up and told her to get up. She had already woken up her sister and they were a mess. Both crying, clearly tired, but refusing to go back to sleep. I was tired and frustrated. I knew they weren't going to be able to function with so little sleep, but what could I do?

Sunday morning was my morning for nursery duty at church, so I went while Dan stayed home with the kids. Bg1 still had a fever and Bg2 was going to be a mess with so little sleep. I came home, layed around, made lunch and then it was naptime for everyone. We all slept really well - thankfully. We continued to lay around and then made some breakfast for dinner. Having had coffee for dinner, and the fact that I did basically nothing all weekend, my overdrive got kicked in. I got more done that night than all weekend. I got the dishes done, the kitchen cleaned, the living room cleaned, 4 loads of laundry done and put away, gave myself a manicure, talked to Beth and watched TV.

I HAVE to get some flowers planted in the backyard today. I bought them over a week ago and they are still not in the ground. I did manage to plant the ones for the front yard, but the back is so easily neglected. I will do it today. I want the flowers to be grown in and blooming in time for Bg2's birthday party. I can't believe that is almost here and she will be 2! Crazy!
