Happy bday/Mother's day to me

We had a really great weekend, celebrating our birthdays and Mother's Day. We went to my Aunt and Uncle's house for the weekend and it was really nice. We left on Friday morning, but we had to make a pitstop on the way. I had to take Martha to a doctor's apt. = not fun. After we dropped her off, we were on our way. We stopped and had lunch on the way and got to my aunt's in the late afternoon. We hung around the house and visited for the night. I was hit with a stomach issue and was in our room for a couple of hours, missing dinner, but felt better later on. Saturday morning, I got to sleep in! Dan got up with the girls and I actually got to sleep in! So nice! The girls helped my aunt bake a cake and then we all got ready and went down to the Santa Monica Pier. I have never been there before. It was a perfect day for walking on the pier. The huge ferris wheel was already gone, taken down last week, but we still had fun riding the roller coaster and the carousel. We had our birthday dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and headed home for some cake. Sunday morning I got to sleep in again - Happy Mother's Day to me! We were lazy for a while and then we started getting the house ready for our Birthday/Mother's Day celebration. My mom, brother and his family came over and we bar-b-q'd, played crocette (sp?) and opened presents. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Everyone liked the presents I got for them and I got some nice things too (I had talked my mom into getting me a gift card this year, instead of some crappy gift that I would have to return anyways). Dan also surprised me with a bday gift (after we already got things for each other a long time ago). He ordered me a new set of knives that are supposed to arrive this morning. Dan and the girls were so great this weekend and I felt very loved and appreciated by them. I have an amazing family that I love more than anything.

We got home late last night and were pleasantly surprised by four birthday messages on our phone from friends and family = very nice.

Today is a day for unpacking, laundry and thank you notes. Also, I woke up to RAIN! It's a good day!
