Always a project to think about

So I cancelled my doctor's apt. It was made last week when I wasn't feeling well. Then I had the trip to urgent care, the self-diagnosis and the now I'm feeling much better. I tried to email my doctor to see if she thought she still needed to see me, but when I didn't hear back from her, I cancelled the apt.

The past couple of days have been really nice. I've been having a lot of fun with the girls and the weather has finally cooled down, so it's nice to be outside. I feel like they have been learning a lot of lessons about playing nice together and sharing. It's not always easy, but when they get it, it's so amazingly sweet. I love seeing them play together and truly enjoy being with one another. I always ask the girls, "Are you my girl?" Bg1 always answers, "Yes, mommy, I'm your girl!". Bg2 used to always say, "No, daddy's girl.". Now she is split. One third of the time she's my girl, another third of the time she's daddy's girl and her lastest is, "I dee dee's (what she calls her sister) girl!" SUPER cute!

Because the girls have been playing so well together, I've been able to get a ton of things done around the house lately. Everyday I have been tackeling something new. I've cleaned out places that haven't been cleaned in a while, plus all the usual cleaning - vacuuming, dusting, dishes, laundry, etc. It feels so good to have a clean house. I'm back into my mode of wanting to paint the living room. We'll be gone over this long weekend, but I'm thinking about tackeling it when we get back. It will take a couple days of prep work to get it started, but I'm ready for it. I think it is going to make a huge difference in warming the place up. I can't wait.

Today is a day full of laundry and packing. We are leaving tomorrow, when Dan gets home from work, to go to his parents house for the long weekend. It should be nice and relaxing. We are going to go to a strawberry festival while we are up there and we will get a date night too! I love getting a date night. I think we are just going to do dinner and a movie, but I can hardly wait. There was talk of Dan and his dad taking the girls fishing, which means I get an afternoon off. I usually try to nap or read, but Dan's mom usually doesn't allow that to happen. Maybe I'll try to take up some of my scrapbooking - since it's still packed up from when I was supposed to go to Jenn's and she cancelled.

I've just had a couple of really great days where I am thankful for my life. I love my husband and children more than imaginable, I love being home with them and I don't remember a time when I was happier. I've been thinking about moving again, but not sure it's in the plan for right now - and I am perfectly okay with that. It just makes me want to do improvement type things around the house - like paint the living room, for starters.
