I've been STABBED!

2008-07-03 / 9:40 a.m.

So it's been a month since I have posted and there is no way I will remember everything I have done since then, so I'll give you a condensed list of what I can recall:

*We had a good time in CO with my dad and sister. We did a lot of fun things, but were able to relax at the same time.

*Bg1 had her new tooth put in and it looks good, not as good as I was hoping, if I'm being honest, but still good.

*I recovered my sofa (again). I'm super hapy with it. It's RED and I LOVE it.

*I painted my living room/dining room - TWICE! Long story, but I was mixed the wrong color and had to go back and paint it again. End result: I love it.

*I've been getting caught up (relatively) on some scrapbooking, thanks to some nights with Jenn.

*Bg1 took 2 weeks of swim lessons and did fantastic.

*Beth and I went out for dinner and some time together to celebrate my belated birthday. It was SO nice to be alone with her for a while.

I think that's it - consider yourself caught up.

In more current news, I was STABBED! I love saying that. It's the truth. I was.....by myself. I was doing a stupid thing and the brand new, super sharp knife slipped and went right through my shirt and into my stomach. Thank goodness for extra fat! I actually did a pretty good job and should have gone for stitches. But I didn't because I had guests coming over - within 5 minutes of my NDE (near death experience - got that from my stepmom). I literally had blood pouring out of my stomach and I couldn't get it to stop. I finally was able to squeeze a Strawberry Shortcake bandaid on it (after another attempt) and was able to keep it together while people arrived. I had called my neighbor to see if she had any butterfly bandages, but she wasn't home and her husband didn't know where they might be. About and hour into my guests being there, she called back and said her mom was with her and she was a surgical nurse, so I excused myself and ran across the street real fast. She had that surgical super glue and some special bandages, that I had never seen before, and she fixed me up. She thought it should be okay, but if not I would need to go in for a few stitches.

Thankfully the girls didn't see it happen and Dan was not home. I of course had to fill him in on all the details later that night. But only because I enjoy watching him squirm. He seriously would have passed out if he was home. He wanted to know which knife it was, and I won't tell him, and now he's all crybaby around the knife block. It's hilarious. I love to remind him that I was STABBED. It's almost as good as talking about his parents having sex. And I complain about him pushing my buttons!
